CRMS is focus of national TV series airing Sunday July 30 on PBS
The Colorado Rocky Mountain School’s college-preparatory curriculum is the subject of a 15-minute documentary segment to be broadcast this Sunday on Visionaries, the award-winning public-television series. The CRMS-feature segment, entitled “Agents of Change,” debuts at 11:30 am July 30 on all Colorado and New Mexico PBS affiliates.
Hosted by Sam Waterston (Law and Order), “Agents for Change” spotlights ways in which Colorado Rocky Mountain School inspires students to work toward positive change, not only with rigorous classroom academics but also through community service, physical work, and independent projects that encourage sustainability and active social and environmental engagement.
Incorporating dozens of interviews with CRMS students, faculty, and administrators, “Agents of Change” was produced during the 2005-06 school year.
The Visionaries series, 2006 winner of the Genesis award for Outstanding PBS Documentary, profiles nonprofit organizations in programs broadcast around the nation on PBS affiliates. The segment featuring Colorado Rocky Mountain School first aired in in April on PBS affiliates in other U.S. markets; this Sunday’s will be the segment’s Colorado and New Mexico debut. Two organizations are profiled in Sunday’s program; CRMS is profiled during the second half of the show.
In the Roaring Fork Valley, “Agents of Change” can be viewed at 11:30 am Sunday on KRMJ/Grand Junction, Channel 6. For more information, or to obtain copies of the program, contact CRMS director of communications Jeremy Simon at jsimon@crms.org.
