The news uncovered by Post blogger Michael Conniff is not that the Aspen Daily News has been incorrigibly in favor of Pitkin County Sheriff Bob Braudis in his race against challenger Rick Magnuson. Everybody knows that. Nope, the real news is that Daily editor Rick Carroll admitted in an email to the Aspen Post editor that the newspaper “makes no apologies for being pro-Braudis” because–according to Carroll–the best newspapers in the world do the same thing every day. Bad news for Magnuson: Carroll and Daily founder Dave Danforth are two-thirds of the troika running “Squirm Night” at the Red Brick Wednesday night.
