THE ASPEN ART MUSEUM LAUNCHES 2007 ARCHITECTURE LECTURE SERIES WITH PREMIER GUEST SPEAKER KENGO KUMA
The AAM is pleased to announce its Architecture Lecture Series in collaboration with the Aspen Institute and the City of Aspen Community Development Department . This exciting new series brings world-renowned architects to Aspen to discuss architecture’s role in society, and the effects that architectural form, style, and purpose have on our engineered landscapes. Held at the Aspen Institute’s Paepcke Auditorium, the series of four lectures will begin with Japanese architect Kengo Kuma on March 7, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. All lectures in the AAM Architecture Lecture Series will be free and open to the public.
Born in Kanagawa , Japan , in 1954, Kengo Kuma graduated from the University of Tokyo with an MA in Architecture from the School of Engineering (1979), and was a visiting scholar at the Graduate School at Columbia University . Founder/President of Kengo Kuma and Associates, Mr. Kuma’s designs emphasize his interest in exploring new relationships between nature, technology, and humankind.
Future Architecture Lecture Series guest lecturers will be announced by the Aspen Art Museum as confirmed, with series programming scheduled for June, July, and August 2007. The AAM Architecture Lecture Series is underwritten by Judith Neisser, Jan and Ronnie Greenberg, and the City of Aspen Community Development Department. Founded in 1979, the Aspen Art Museum is an internationally recognized non-collecting institution presenting exhibitions of important contemporary art from around the globe.

Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, noon to 6:00 p.m.
Art After Hours: FREE every Thursday during exhibitions, 5 - 7p.m.
Closed Mondays and major holidays
