Oldman Returns Re Global Warming

May 30th, 2007 at 04:18am Michael Conniff 2

I picked up a copy of The Aspen Times , May 24 2007 and the front page story really got me to thinking. The headline read (City hires global warming manager). It said Kimberly Peterson would be working to reduce green house gas emissions. Now this will have to be a very creative balancing act.

If the green house gasses are brought to an acceptable level Aspen will no longer need a Global warming manager. The old work your self out of a job syndrome. Also i was thinking it will have to be done without stepping on the toes of wealthy home owners (voters) ,(The energy sucking homes often talked about in other topics). That make up most of the taxes collected that keep Aspen rolling along.  Man that sounds like a rough job. I think she is really going to earn her $75,500 and most of that will be spent on rent unless she lives in Rifle but then that 75 mile drive will just create more green house gasses and that wouldnt look good.

I think most people agree that we need to fight pollution but when it comes to changing  the lifestyles of the Rich and Famous I think Kimberly is going to have her hands full. unless this is just a ploy to make Aspen appear to be making that effort (pretty common liberal smoke screen) While life goes on as usual. Well thats just the way my mind works .

What do you guys think?
