Don’t Stop Now

Many of us live our lives in a truely cyclical nature. Meaning that we do things based on what time of year it is. In some respects this is great because it gives us some variety and we don’t get sick of doing the same old things everyday. But, we also need to be careful as the weather starts to change here in the Valley. Soon it will be too cold to go up smuggler or ride to the bells in short sleeves. Yet, you won’t be able to hit the slopes or bust out the snowshoes, either.Solution: get into the gym and lift weights a little bit more often, and, if you know you are not the type to do outdoor cardio in less than perfect weather, you need to park yourself on a tredmill or eliptical and get some cardio work done inside. All too often, I see people make tremendous strides only to lose it all in just a few short months of being the fitness doldrums. Don’t let that happen to you this fall. We still have 10 more weeks until ski season officially begins, I challenge everyone to try and get into the best shape they can between now and then…It will make skiing more enjoyable and best of all, reduce your risk of injury. And of course, you will avoid falling out of shape and losing all you great summer gains as the seasons change.
