Karma-Do you or don’t you?

Believe in it, that is. Just what is does Karma mean? Without consulting Webster’s dicitonary or Wikopedia, I think it’s fair to say it means, “what goes around, comes around.” To think of the Karma in a more biblical sense, try “do unto others what you’d expect to be done to you.” While I’ve seen no scientific proof to support that Karma exists, all one really has to do is take a look around to believe in the mantra. Good things happen to good people? Well not always, but being the best person you can be and doing the right thing have got to account for something. Doing not so nice things? Deliberately harming others? Well, if payback is real, I guess it’s up to personal belief, or to use another laden analogy, “the proof is in the pudding.”Personally, I happen to be a believer that things happen for a reason. Sure there are a multitude of things not in our control, and I thank (or blame)the Universe for that. But truly, as free living agents in this world, we’ve got to take some responsibility for our actions. Cause and effect are not just two words. If you park illegally, you risk getting a ticket. If you cheat on that math test, you are likely to get caught. How about when it comes to the gym and the greater picture, our health? While making excuses doesn’t always work (If I do that last sit-up, I can eat more pizza), we can add to our successes through Karma, in a lighter sense. If we are dedicated to a healthful diet, less stress, and working out, how can we not be granted some good health Karma? I don’t see how it can fail. Do the work, reap the rewards. While it may not be instantaneous, we are on the right track to “getting ours”- and I am talking about a healthy, prosperous, wonderful, life! We have what it takes, we just have to believe in it and to coin yet another saying, “Just do it.”
