The Return Of Chef Dava With The October Box
October 17th, 2007 at 07:01pm Chef Dava 63
Hello Everyone! Anyone Hungry?
I need you all to go online or reply back to this email if you want one (or two!) of the October Boxes that I will be driving over next Thursday/Friday, even if you are on the Automatic Box Route. This is a box I don't count as automatic because so many people are out of town this time of year. I am trying to have all my orders in by Monday night, so I can round everything up for you all. Please stock up on Juices, Jams, Eggs, Beef, Lamb, Buffalo, Cheese, Leroux Creek Skin care, Etc at this time, because most likely I won't come over again until Thanksgiving week. Think Stews and Chilis!
Don't forget that beef, juices and jams have a long shelf-life so it doesn't hurt to over shop a bit. For that matter your box will be full of "keepers" so you can buy two and set some back for storage if you are inclined.
I have a new product to promote from Indian Ridge Farm and Bakery in Norwood, Co. They make a fabulous mostly Organic Granola that they sell in a one pound bag. The cost is $5.50. I wish I could say the ingredients are locally grown, but they are not. However the Farm is and this is one of the ways they stay sustainable year-round when there are no birds to raise or crops to grow. Indian Ridge offers Turkeys and Chickens on my web-site as well.
The box "should" have braising Greens, Lettuce, Potatoes, Onions, Garlic, Butternut Squashes, other Winter squashes, herbs, Fuji apples and whatever else I can find!
Many of you have ordered your Turkeys on-line already, but if I may, can I stress the importance of going on-line to order your Turkey even if you have already verbalized that to me or emailed your order to me. An on-line order is easier for me and I don't want to mess up your big night. I was really tired at the end of this last season and that is when I wrote down a lot of your orders. Please don't rely on my tattered brain cells and please go on-line and order your Turkey right away regardless of the "conversation" you had with me a few weeks ago. Thanks. We will offer a box to go with your Turkeys but that won't be posted until after the October box is sold.
P.S. I am doing two Thanksgiving 201 classes the week before Thanksgiving. You can sign up now if your like.......
Extras and Specials
1# Granola- $5.50
Belford Cheese on special for $9.75 a 1/2#

Thanks!
