    Greetings Michael,

Thanks for providing Sue a chance to clear the air and start to open people to differing viewpoints on the Mid-East and specifically on the Israeli-Palestinian aspect of that conflicted area.

Although you cracked the door, this conversation only begins to scratch the surface of what your listeners need to know about this fascinating and immensely complex issue.

Like Sue, I too opened my quest into this area due to 9/11. It has been an experience to say the least. I grew up believing in the Israeli perception. One of my earliest memories of this conflict was the six-day war and hearing my father say words to the effect, "This is good, Israel kicked those Arab asses and now they know Israel is here to stay".

So, you could say, my earliest opinions were inbred to start with. Then, with that foundation firmly in place, came a relentless deluge of news story after news story, presented to my young expanding mind from one solid perspective. That perspective being pro-Israeli.

Therefore I can certainly understand how most people in this country are pro-Israel.

Upon deeper review however it seems that there is more to this story than my simple world view would suggest. And that is the real reason why there are problems in the Mid-East.

I would encourage your listener-readers to look into the history of modern Zionism from its inception in the late 19th Century.

See how the effects of French, and especially British Colonialism, along with the events of WWI and its aftermath played a huge part in what brought us to today.

And of course there were illegal immigration issues being played out in this land throughout the early part of the 20th Century.

As well, you will get into WWII, the holocaust, and all of those worldwide implications.

Finally you get to the turning over of British Colonial lands to the Zionist to form their new State of Israel in 1948. Not however, before the Zionist themselves became terrorist to their British lords.

I am just now getting to the period between 1948 and 1967, so I am on this knowledge journey myself.

One very interesting and powerful highlight, I have found in some of my other pursuits though, is the issue of our (U.S.) ship(Liberty) that was attacked and nearly sunk in international waters during the "67" war. This one incident will start you to thinking that there is more here than meets the eye when it comes to U.S.-Israeli relations. Here is a link to a film on this incident.

And here is a another link to show you the influence that the Israeli lobby has on our present day leaders.

I guess what I am getting at is that in my quest for knowledge into the why and how of 9/11, I have been taken on a far longer journey than I imagined when I started. But that is good, because if it really was what we are being told... the future would be bleak indeed.

While it is easy to aim low (homeless-welfare-Palestinians-etc) while we are being beaten down, I am calling for us to raise our heads and to look a little higher to see the real target.

I believe a truly informed opinion requires more than listening to Bill O'Rilley telling you he is Irish damnit and he knows all about oppression and racism blah, blah, blah.

    Enough said!

The Con Man, who actually went to college, will not comment on said 9/11 videos because he considers the 9/11 conspiracy theories not just wrong, but actually idiotic.

    Cheers, Michael!
