Of Nursery Rhymes and Patriotic Stains

April 21st, 2008 at 01:21pm Edward Troy 191

I continue to hear the arguement that not supporting some idiotic war is unpatriotic -- that somehow such dissent is being against the country. 57,000 dead Americans in Viet Nam (forget the 5million dead Vietnamese) was beneficial. This is a statement that the modern fraudulent incarnations of patriotism expect me to believe and recapitulate. Sorry it will never happen; I am not Winston Smith. Just in case ANY CONSERVATIVE thinks they can, I challenge any of them or anyone else to show me on any map, since 1975 the benefits of that war. Show me.

My country right or wrong is now what; my country dumb and wrong?

So, how about the Iraqi theatre of the absurd -- yes I have a certain bias towards this so called War Against Turrur, nucular yella cake and the like. But show me something real, something that justifies letting Bin Laden and Al Qaeda off the hook, and allowing them to make a comeback in Afghanistan. As I see it, any questioning of dissent regarding this probable criminality, is also treasonous and a result of insipid intellect. But go ahead and prove me wrong. Forget the forgeries and the so called cells in Hussein's Iraq. The cells that did train here in the USA, you know that country called America, sound familiar, offer even better proof of a link between Bush and Al Qeada since the terrorist attacks occurred here and not Iraq. Why Hussein did a better job stopping Al Qeada in Iraq than Bush did in the USA, is a question I would like answers or excuses for. Forget the failed Nuremburg defense of following orders. So SHOW ME, and attempt to leave out the nursery rhymes and prevent the staining of patriotism. 70 years later and many of us have retrograded behind 1930s Germany; and we even have the internet, whether invented by Al Gore or not. Drop that flag and bible, out with it already.
