While maybe not as long as the Great Wall of China, nor as wide as the Grand Canyon, a twelve-year-old's attention span can make a seven-year-old's seem, well, diminutive. Every child is different. While my daughters love it when I catch a trout, their attentions still turn quickly to snail shells, sticks, mud, and pretty rocks, and that's fine with me.
