OUR IMMIGRATION LAWS NOT BROKEN: JUST NOT ENFORCED

When you don't enforce laws, of course, the system breaks down. When we don't enforce our federal immigration laws or state-wide laws, yes, the system remains broken. When we suffer Mayor Hickenlooper enforcing a "Sanctuary Policy" that allows illegals to remain in Denver with immunity from deportation after 16 arrests such as Francis Hernandez, yes, the system favors lawlessness and two-tiered justice. When Governor Ritter won't enforce state laws passed in 2006 (HB 1023) that addressed illegal alien migrants, yes, a broken system results. In the final equation, this state features something close to 300,000 to 500,000 (my estimate) illegal aliens that laugh at us and our lack of law enforcement that allows them to remain in Colorado. Those who employ them laugh all the way to the bank.
You can enact a whole new set of laws against massive, unrelenting and unending illegal migration--but the system would remain broken if you didn't enforce them. So, what lesson do DP editors teach us by their recent editorial about a 'broken system'? What logic do they engage? What lack of reason do they employ?
Do they want us to enact new laws that won't be enforced so they can write another editorial that harangues our laws as "a broken system" while a three year old dies sitting on a Baskin-Robbins stool licking his ice cream? Or two 'best friend' women sharing a moment sipping milkshakes, but instead, shared death at the hands of an illegal alien?
Readers expect more from the Denver Post. Coloradans tire of receiving irrational excuses and editorials that make no sense while citizens die at the hands of illegal alien criminals.
Begin enforcing Denver Initiative-100; Impoundment of Motor-Vehicles to stop another Hernandez nightmare for Denver citizens.
What is the value of a human life? Why did Hickenlooper say that Initiative 100 costs too much? If this initiative had been in place, three hearts would still be beating today: 3 year old Marten Kudlis, Patricia Guntharp, 49, and Debra Serecky, 51.
Denver writer Sam Flack said, “Does it matter to you when a person in Colorado slides behind the wheel unlawfully and operates a motor-vehicle in the Columbine State? While each of us knows that all drivers must carry a valid driver license, valid insurance coverage, valid registration, valid license plates and a safe vehicle before driving… hundreds of thousands of scofflaws break our laws every year. So what, you might say.
“What happens when one of those goof-balls crashes into you? Does this seem more serious to you now?
“Would you agree that "accidents" involving motor-vehicles in Colorado happen when licensed drivers have an unfortunate experience, but it is pre-meditated mayhem when a person unlawfully operating a vehicle causes harm?”
Denver "Initiative-100," intended to stop the mayhem
“In recognition of this situation, in the recent Denver election, 'We-the-People" successfully added "Initiative-100" to the ballot, which requires Denver cops to impound any vehicle involved in a altercation when the driver is not legally empowered,” Flack said. “The obvious idea is to get the vehicles and errant drivers off the road.”
Denver's "Initiative-100" is certainly cost-effective – and yet Hizzoner says otherwise!
“The details in "Initiative-100" include provisions for a "pay-as-you go" approach, to avoid dinging the taxpayers for this process,” Flack said. “Denver Mayor Hickenlooper campaigned against the initiative, telling lies to the electorate as he predicted inordinate costs in terms of Police Department manpower and related costs.
“The Mayor of Denver, the majority of the Denver City Council Members, the Denver Post and the Denver Rocky Mountain News joined forces with a few churches and a few NFP-NGO 501.c.3 groups to recommend a "NO" vote and kill the Initiative-100.
“Just the opposite happened as the electorate voted "YES on Initiative-100" – for obvious reasons.”
Internal Denver Cost-Benefit Study shows "Initiative-100" is smart!
On the eve of the DNC Coronation, Todd Shepherd of the Independence Institute, working diligently with Director Stan Weekes of CAIR, has developed a breaking story about Denver Mayor Hickenlooper and Initiative-100......
MAYOR: IMPOUND INITIATIVE "TOO COSTLY,"
BUT DOCUMENT SHOWS OVER $3 MILLION PROFIT
CompleteColorado.com has obtained an internal document produced by the City of Denver that shows a projected first-year $3 million dollar profit for the Denver vehicle impound lot in calendar year 2009, the first full year of operation under the new "impound" ordinance recently passed by voters. As enforcement effort increases, the finances get better and better. And yet, Hizzoner whined;
Hick said; "Initiative-100 will [cost] us a ton of personnel and funding."
Denver is infamous for UNLAWFUL "Sanctuary Processes"
Since winning the ballot battle in Denver, the sponsors and the Colorado Alliance for Immigration Reform will now press for similar local ordinance changes around the state as well as an appropriate modified state law at the next session of the Colorado General Assembly.
Reduced Risk, Improved Public Safety, Reduced Insurance Costs
"Thousands of people in the metro area will see lower insurance costs, reduce their risk of being victimized by hit and run or drunk drivers, and not be subjected to the two tiered legal judgment currently imposed by the processes known as Sanctuary," Weekes said. "The people of Denver should expect their elected leadership to be honest with them when it comes to emotional public safety issues."
We sicken at Hickenlooper’s sanctuary policy and support of illegal aliens in Denver. We’re tired of Ritter not enforcing our laws. If they uphold their oaths of office--our citizens’ lives don’t need to end up like the Kudlis, Serecky and Guntharp.
