Immigration Is Good For America

Since I got here I have noticed that there has been a lot of discussion on immigration. Is immigration good for America or is it bad for America? In a post 9/11 world it is not an easy topic to opine on, but I will give it a shot nonetheless.

For me, I think immigration is good for America and is what made this country so great in the first place. People coming from different countries to share in the American dream is fabulous. I still think we should allow the poor of the world come to this country and find salvation. We need to be more careful especially with the threat of terrorism, but we should not stop being a beacon of hope for everyone around the world.

Now when immigrants do come to this country I think they should be required to learn how to speak English and should adapt to America. American's should not have to learn how to speak a different language to accommodate immigrants. The immigrants should become Americans.

I know this may sound cliché but all my grandparents came here with nothing and were given the opportunity to succeed. We should not deprive that chance to anyone or we are betraying the values we built this great nation on.

Whether legal or illegal, all immigration into America in the 21st century cannot be sustained. We cannot sustain an added and projected 100 million people in 30 years. We cannot remain a viable civilization. I recommend you get your emotions out of your ears and the past out from between your toes and enter the realities of water s shortages, climate change, air pollution and loss of quality of life before you continue espousing added population created by legal and illegal immigration. How would you like Colorado to add five or ten or 20 million more people? What's the point? While we add 2.4 million immigrants annually, the world grows by another 77 million so we simply do nothing to solve their problems, but we destroy our own civilization. Frosty, we cant even get this government to do anything with the 30+ million illegals here now. How in hell are you gonna get them or the sheeple to add legal immigrants to the bunch.

Your crazy to be worrying about the legal immigrants.
