A personal trainer plans to open a facility in Carbondale to provide medical marijuana to qualified users…Joey Jones, 24, (a patient who uses marijuana to relieve back pain) says in addition to marijuana that can be smoked, he plans to offer edible forms including a butter containing THC—(the active ingredient in Marijuanna)--that can be used in baking.
Amendment 20 to the state constitution (passed nine years ago by the voters) allows those who qualify due to disabling physical ailments---to use marijuana as a pain medication.
The site of the new marijuana outlet, says Jones, will not be made public----and will be open only to those with the right paperwork.
A mountain lion was sauntering down the Rio Grand Trail near Basalt on Monday. Division of wildlife officers says no surprise really---with all the deer in the area. Humans are a last choice they say for a meal---but you might want to stay especially alert when out for your run or bike ride in that area today.
The current fiscal year for the state budget ends next week---and the new fiscal year begins with a deficit of nearly 385 million dollars.
Governor Bill Ritter says more cuts in state services---and nixing new projects will be necessary to balance the budget in 2010---but declined to be specific as to what programs would have to go, but schools are expected to suffer among the most in a plan to keep the state finances intact.
