The man who is alleged to have robbed Clark’s market in Basalt over the weekend has been identified.  28 year old Jonas Garcia Leon Jr., who worked at the store more than one year ago and who lived only blocks away, was recognized by several employees at the time of the heist, including the clerk who responded “are you kidding?” when Leon, also known as Junior, brandished a handgun and demanded money.
He made off with more than one thousand dollars in cash.
But Police were quickly at the home of the suspect. Leon surrendered without incident, and is being held in Eagle County jail on 15 thousand dollars bond.
Practice runs begin tomorrow at Buttermilk for Winter X games 14. The course is vastly improved since the weekend snow storm.
Chris Klug has been officially invited to the Olympics---after finishing eighth in the final qualifying race in Stoneham, Quebec this past weekend-----it will be the  third trip to the Olympics  for the 37 year old Aspenite, a liver transplant survivor and organizer of the Summit for Life program—raising money for those needing transplant surgery.
