Chef Dava
I invited my neighbor Miss Jodie over this morning for a Squash Blossom Breakfast. I've had a hankering for weeks now since Mona Esposito fed me one on my delivery route in Aspen, and boy was I hungry for them. I stuffed them with a mix of Haystack Smoked Chevre and James Ranch Belford, put in a sliver of roasted Jalapeno, rolled them in egg whites and then I dipped them in flour. Next a few minutes of saute on each side in a hot pan with a little ghee and grapeseed oil. I had made a marinara the night before out of garlic, lemon zest, crushed red pepper, olive oil, sage and fresh Heirlooms. That served grandly as a dipping sauce. A squeeze of lemon, a dusting of sea salt and Voilla! Crunch, Crunch. Two very happy, fat ladies, Miss Jodie and I!

My Goodness! This summer is going by so fast! It felt a little like fall this morning when I arose, but that is impossible because I haven't had the summer bounty of tomatoes, cucumbers and melons in my belly yet!
Mother Nature is eeking it out this year. Those tomatoes still aren't ready...

I once again am not sure what will be in the box. It has been one heck of a strange growing year so far.......I will venture a good guess that we will have Mesclun Salad mix, Summer Squash, Onions, Colorado Red Potatoes, Peaches, Squash Blossoms, Asian Greens, Garlic and Green Beans. As usual we will do our best to make it a wonderful
selection of fresh from the garden produce for you.

This is getting to you a little late to be exciting, I am sure, but I had to wait for the farmers to get back from their first markets of the season to find out what they could harvest for you.
It looks like you will have strawberries, cherries, mesclun mix, turnip tops, broccoli raab, sugar snap peas and snow peas! Yippee, come on Mother Nature, feed us......
It has been warm over here the last few days and that is helping to "set" a lot of the vegetables. We should see lots of good grub, soon!

I must be committing a crime. I am eating too well. Big brother is going to come find me and chain me to the Golden Arches any day now for getting away with such good eats. Surely little old me, part of the general public has no invitation to the decadent, fresh, top shelf, royalty reserved food chain that as I have been glutting gleefully on…
By point of fact, I wish to invite you in on my secret upper-echelon breakfast I whipped up for myself today. My entire meal, with the exception of one or two condiments and my Mochi Waffles (totally awesome, by the way) was locally grown by my neighbors, my friends and myself.
