Chef Clark Church of the Garnish Restaurant at the Aspen Club & Spa has just the right recipe for cooking classes sure to transform your stance in the kitchen.

Known to Aspen Post readers for his love of film, Post blogger DrBill has to come to grips with a terrible disease that has changed his life.

The Atlantic blogs at the Aspen Ideas Festival about a subject that remains shrouded in mystery: what does Islam have to say for itself. "I went into the discussion 'Who Speaks for Islam?' assuming that it would be an informative but relatively tame chat between two like-minded people," blogs Jennie Rothenbirg Gritz from Aspen. "The speakers listed on the program--Irshad Manji and Dalia Mogahed--were both women intellectuals raised and educated in the West; based on their bios, it was hard to imagine either one of them advocating anything but a modern, democratic approach to the Muslim faith. But as soon as I glanced at the stage, it was obvious that the discussion was going to be edgier than I'd expected."

Just today, I heard somewhere on one of the news channels that doctors are advocating that kids as young as 7 start taking cholesterol-reducing meds and that parents should start getting their kid's cholesterol levels checked by the age of 2!
I took care of my disabled mom during the last 10 years of her life. Her main problems were arthritis and heart disease. While doing my duty as a caretaker, I did a lot of research on how to help her. I found the "Life Extension Foundation" to be my most valuable resource on different nutritional remedies and the latest research on various illnesses and/or longevity. I/we were using things like shark cartilage, melatonin and glucosamine long before the general public even knew such things existed.

Aspen Community Theatre is offering a free dance workshop hosted by Marisa Post, the director and choreographer for Aspen Community Theatre’s fall musical, Chicago. Synonymous with the show Chicago is the name of its brilliant director and choreographer Bob Fosse. Highly stylized, this dance class will explore the essential ingredients in the choreography of Fosse, including his dance roots in vaudeville, burlesque and jazz. The workshop will include a film history of vaudeville and burlesque, a session on how to follow choreography, culminating in a dance class designed to pull it all together. This class is perfect for actors, singers and dancers of all experience levels.

Dear Aspen Club Family,
As some of you have heard by now, last night we received conceptual P&Z approval for The Aspen Club Living project by a 4-1 vote. This is a great first step in making Aspen Club Living a reality. The approval was really a tribute to the fantastic team we have here at the Club and all of the support that we received from You and the Aspen Community through this process.

One of the people at the newspaper who hired me when I came to Aspen five years ago told me about “the tractor beam effect.”
That’s a poetic way of saying that once people leave Aspen they always come back, inexorably drawn to the mountains, the valley, the rivers, and certain ineffable things that have no name.
True enough: all of that speaks to why we’re so lucky to be here. But it’s also another way of saying people leave—they leave all the time—and that we’ve experienced this directly and personally. At least three key people, great friends, will no longer live here full-time come 2009.
