In
Stop The Madness-Lock Up The Knives, Post blogger Mitch Mulhall takes a look at some fresh examples of knife violence and proposes seven sure-fire measures to wipe out knife violence for good. "Death by stabbing is all too common," Mulhall writes. "If only it were it possible to limit knife ownership, we could curb this unnecessary form of violence. Although I would personally like to see as many civilian-owned knives eliminated from mainstream society as possible, I realize that this is not a politically realistic goal... my own, seven-point plan for knife control, if adopted, can help put an end to knife violence once and for all."

Post blogger Jerry Bovino gets behind Jim Perry's idea for an independent investigation to find out what the hell happened at Burlingate.

Knives have made a lot of news lately...
Death by stabbing is all too common. If only it were it possible to limit knife ownership, we could curb this unnecessary form of violence.
Although I would personally like to see as many civilian-owned knives eliminated from mainstream society as possible, I realize that this is not a politically realistic goal. Thus, I present my own, seven-point plan for knife control. If adopted, this plan can help put an end to knife violence once and for all.

The Con Man, a civil libertarian, turns his considerable attention to the news that the FBI is on the verge of investigating innocent Americans--particularly Muslims and Arabs--on the basis of racial profiling.

Stuart Brafman: I just did an interview on KAJX about my uncle as a matter of fact. My Uncle Abe came to the United States at age 15 in 1922 from a small town in the Ukraine with his father and two sisters. His mother was killed by bandits shooting up the town. The guy was incredible. Within two years of coming here his father died. He learned the language, got a job in shoe factories, and worked his way through high school. He applied to West Point after just four years and got a grade of 82. The Congressman was ready to recommend him until he realized “you’re not in my district.” That Congressman said: “I made an appointment for a guy who had a 68.” He said: “What about Annapolis?”—but Uncle Abe rejected it. Then he worked his way through the University of Wisconsin engineering school, selling fruit off a wagon in summer to make enough money. The third year he did ROTC in the summer and the family pitched in to get him through his last year. He graduated, got a commission, and was sent to Fort Sheridan, where he soon became the post engineer—he built Fort Sheridan into a major induction center and became a full colonel.

The Sheriff's Office's don't ask-don't smell drug policy is hardly worth talking about any more--what more can you say about drug-induced law enforcement fade-to-black ops?--but heretofore Sheriff Bob has insisted without surcease that his guys and gals keep do a bang-up job on the highways and byways of Pitkin County. So it is with some glee that critics of said Sheriff (that would be me) saw the front page story this week that lionized the Wyatt Earp of The New West for bodaciously increasing the number of traffic arrests in 2007 compared to 2006.

There’s no need to speculate on just how continued mass immigration will shape Colorado’s and America’s future; we only need look to the immigration laboratory, California, to get the answers.
In 1970, California had a population of about 20 million. It is now a huge 38 million, larger than most countries of the world’s, and it will be a gargantuan 62 million by 2050—if the U. S. government insists on forcing mass immigration onto an already overpopulated America. Virtually 100 percent of California’s explosive growth is a result of immigration, legal and illegal.

The prosecution of Cory Voorhis, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who is charged in a high-profile case with three federal misdemeanors for allegedly illegally accessing a restricted database, could lead to the dismissal of charges or to drastically reduced charges for the alleged head of the notorious Mexico-based criminal Castorena Family Organization (CFO), some say.

What we DON'T have here in Pitkin County is a failure to communicate. What do have is an egregious example of a public official who is taken at his word by local newspapers no matter how ridiculous the patter.
Perhaps you've heard of Pitkin County Sheriff Bob Braudis. He's the publicly elected law enforcement official who has decided it is decidedly NOT his job to enforce any drug laws. When the biggest Colorado pot bust of the last ten years goes down in his jurisdiction, federal and state officials don't even bother to tell him because there is a good chance he will screw it up.

I read the below posted article today and have to wonder, what happened to common sense in our education system. For that matter, what happened to common sense in just about anything having to do with security?
Once again, adults who do not use common sense have turned a normal ten year old girl into a criminal. Nice going. Just what we want our educational systems to be doing...producing more criminals by their lack of vision and common sense.
