"I never mentioned You during my speech until the last line, not once during the whole speech in Dayton while I thanked my husband, my children, my parents, John McCain—I thanked everyone but the Anheuser-Busch company—so I need you to know that’s it’s not because of my wicked pride, the thing that made me want to be Miss Alaska...."

"Dr. Golan is a Jewish woman who has lived in Israel since 1966 and has been on the faculty of the Hebrew University since 1967. She has been active in Peace Now, an Israeli organization dedicated to ending Israel’s occupation of Palestine and was the director of Bat Shalom, a Jewish women’s peace organization. Dr. Golan believes that Israel’s occupation of the West Bank and the building of Jewish towns on land stolen from the Arabs is a threat to Israel’s security and survival as a Jewish state."

Post blogger Keith Hemstreet provides Onion-esque satire latest blog titled, "Majority of Nation's Youth Believe Jesus was American."
Hemstreet writes, "A recent study conducted by New Millennium Research, Inc., reported that 53 percent of U.S. high school students believe that Jesus Christ was an American. 'Quite honestly I was shocked,' said John Waterhouse, Chief of the Juvenile Research Division. 'Most multiple choice questions include what we call a give me,' Waterhouse explained, referring to the answer that is very obviously incorrect. 'American was the give me.'”

I know You’re busy but hey—there’s no way You could be more busy than me. I had to take my first trip on a Gulfstream IV today just to make it in time for my big appointment. You know the one: your pal John McCain picked me to be his running mate—me, a nobody from Nowhere USA who nobody knows but You.
Now I know you’ve been working overtime for me and mine, not just by giving me the Vice Presidential nomination, but also by making my big days the same day as my 20th anniversary and John McCain’s 72nd birthday. But there is something that’s been bothering me ever since I left Dayton—and no, it’s not how Cindy McCain broke her arm or why she always wears those awful colors that show up her husband.

The creation of Israel 60 years ago as a sanctuary for the Jewish people is cause for celebration. Israel is a successful nation, which has contributed much to science and technology. It’s fully capable of defending itself with the fourth strongest military in the world. But Israel is still in jeopardy.

Ah the reverend Wright and Ayers (I think that is how it is spelled) along with the good old Weather Underground my my. Poor Obama, what an association. I guess one can imagine Washington, Jefferson, Henry, Paine, Franklin and Adams wanting to have tea instead of throwing a tea party in our world of greatly reduced expectations for the vision of America. Sometimes saying the truth certainly in a venomous way shouldn't be done (Wright). Obviously, doing the things that our founding fathers did in the name of truth justice and the American way shouldn't be done either (Weather Underground using some very rough tactics going against a morally bankrupt government over Viet Nam and civil rights). Examining the veracity of what was said (not all wrong but wrongly said) and why what was done (bombings to stop the Viet Nam War where 57,000+ Americans and 5million Vietnamese died for some idiot reason) is horrifying is beyond reason unless the Nuremburg defense of taking orders suffices. I mean can anyone tell me, point to a map or something or anything to show what was gained in Viet Nam??

I have been studying separatism as a kind of background exercise in what I regard a troubling association between Senator Barack Obama and Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr.
Separatism is based on an idea that ethnic minorities cannot advance in a society dominated by an ethnic majority.
Separatism is an idea that is not without precedent in the writings of the U.S. founding fathers. Thomas Jefferson, who penned what I regard the central premise of the United States when he wrote “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness” also wrote this:
Nothing is more certainly written in the book of fate, than that these people [blacks] are to be free; nor is it less certain that the two races, equally free, cannot live in the same government. Nature, habit, opinion have drawn indelible lines of distinction between them.

As if the third-party blindsiding of a Presidential contender isn’t nasty enough, the subsequent drill requires the candidate to personally denounce what that particular person has said as if it were his or her own. Crazy, you say? You said it. The only reason this is happening is because partisan fart-blowers need fresh ammunition the way sharks need chum.
Where does it end?
It won’t in our lifetimes. At some point, Kevin Bacon will say something that embarrasses his chosen candidate, and the candidate will have to repudiate what Kevin Bacon says, return his contribution, and then profusely apologize for what the inseparable actor thinks out loud.

Ordinarily, I don’t give a whole lot of credence to a presidential candidate’s religion. I didn’t do so with Mitt Romney, and I was prepared to do the same for everyone else in the race. Then I heard Barack Obama’s preacher, Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright, say things that polarize people on the basis of race. For example, Wright once said, referring to the injustice of slavery, “All of America’s wealth today could not adequately compensate for centuries of exploitation and humiliation.” He’s right. How do you analyze human indignity in monetary terms? Of course you can't. But exactly where is Wright taking this?...

Stuart Brafman: I just did an interview on KAJX about my uncle as a matter of fact. My Uncle Abe came to the United States at age 15 in 1922 from a small town in the Ukraine with his father and two sisters. His mother was killed by bandits shooting up the town. The guy was incredible. Within two years of coming here his father died. He learned the language, got a job in shoe factories, and worked his way through high school. He applied to West Point after just four years and got a grade of 82. The Congressman was ready to recommend him until he realized “you’re not in my district.” That Congressman said: “I made an appointment for a guy who had a 68.” He said: “What about Annapolis?”—but Uncle Abe rejected it. Then he worked his way through the University of Wisconsin engineering school, selling fruit off a wagon in summer to make enough money. The third year he did ROTC in the summer and the family pitched in to get him through his last year. He graduated, got a commission, and was sent to Fort Sheridan, where he soon became the post engineer—he built Fort Sheridan into a major induction center and became a full colonel.

I was recently challenged by your host and the editor of Aspen Post to write a piece critical of Hamas, Hezbollah and the violence against Israeli civilians by Palestinians in general. At first I didn’t see the merit in this idea. That territory seems to have been fully covered by the mainstream media and various pro-Israel organizations. But on second thought, I do believe it would be a positive step in my ongoing campaign to illuminate the Israel/Palestine issue for Americans. So I’m going to give it a try….

In ancient times, the Greek Oracle of Delphi was the place to go to get rid of doubt. Inscribed in bold letters on the temple was the Oracle's secret for all to see and most to ignore “Know Thyself.” Oracles are not primarily a means to gain insight into the future; rather they are systems designed to teach the truth about one’s own nature. Divining the future is merely a by-product of a much more profound journey into awareness.
